Green Bike Annaba

Green Bike is an ecological and sports association founded in 2016 by Abdelhakim Lachichi, an English teacher in Annaba. Witnessing the degradation of the wilaya's beaches and natural spaces, the association placed cycling at the heart of a civic approach to environmental protection. It regularly organizes cycling outings combined with waste collection operations on the beaches of La Caroube, Seraïdi, and Aïn El Assir, as well as cleanups in parks and urban green spaces. In 2021, it launched a national cleanup campaign that mobilized associations across several wilayas. With a dynamic social media presence (over 420,000 Facebook followers), Green Bike has become one of Algeria's best-known and most influential environmental associations. It carries the ambitious 'Annaba Bike City' project to promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transport.
